Joshua S. Yamamoto, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr. Joshua Yamamoto provides cardiology services at Foxhall Internists. He graduated from Princeton University with a degree in physics and received his medical degree with honors from Dartmouth Medical School. Dr. Yamamoto trained in medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, and received additional training in cardiology at the National Naval Medical Center (Bethesda Naval Hospital) and Georgetown University Hospital. He served proudly in the Navy for eight years.
At the Bethesda Naval Hospital, Dr. Yamamoto served as Director of Cardiac Imaging and as cardiology consultant to the Attending Physician to Congress. He was also the head of cardiology training. In 2005, he was deployed to the war zone of Kuwait to support the cardiac needs of troops throughout Iraq and Afghanistan. Following his return from Kuwait and before joining Foxhall Internists, Dr. Yamamoto worked in the practice of Edward N. Bodurian, MD, PA. He holds a faculty position as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University and is a member of the clinical staff at Georgetown University Hospital and Sibley Memorial Hospital.
A native of the District of Columbia, Dr. Yamamoto and his wife are loving parents to six children.
